Public Hearing for the Section 8 5 Year Plan
Patty Joyner, who is the Leased Housing Administrator, explained the 5 year plan to the Board.
Mr. Greco said that all housing authorities have to file this.
No one showed up for the Public Hearing.
Call to Order
The Special Meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Brian Connor in the John F. Cusack Board Room located at 4 Winslow Street, Arlington, MA.
Present: Brian Connor, Richard Murray, Daniel Brosnan And Teresa Walsh.
Absent: Nicholas Mitropoulos
Also Present: John Griffin and John L. Greco
Notice to Town Clerk
Notice of this meeting was delivered electronically on July 1, 2011, and posted by the Arlington Town Clerk in accordance with the provisions of the Open Meeting Law.
Mr. Griffin said every five years we do a 5 year plan and we do a recertification every year. This is to reaffirm certification and our goals and objectives.
Patty Joyner explained that she tries to keep the percentage of leasing up. She gives the tenants 30 days to start looking for an apartment and then she extends it if they can't find one.
Mr. Griffin explained how the Section 8 Voucher Program works. We only make and Admin. Fee when someone gets a unit.
Patty Joyner explained the procedure of the five year plan and what it entails.
Upon a motion made by Mr. Murray and seconded by Ms. Walsh it was voted unanimously to approve the Section 8 5 Year Plan.
Upon a motion by Mr. Murray and seconded by Ms. Walsh it was voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:05 PM.
