Special Meeting of the AHA - September 22, 2009

Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 4:20 P.M. by Brian Connor in the Chestnut Manor Community Room, located at 54 Medford, Street, Arlington, MA.

Notice of this meeting was delivered electronically on September 17, 2009, and posted by the Arlington Town Clerk in accordance with the provisions of the Open Meeting Law.

Ammondson Architects – Eric Ammondson presentation of new 689

Mr. Griffin gas a brief description of the 689-2 Project and the people that will be living there.

Eric Ammondson gave his presentation of the 689-2 Project that will be built at Chestnut Manor. He presented a diagram of what the building will look like. The Arlington Housing Authority has received two million dollars from the State for this project. This building will house 10 residents and will have full-time staff personnel 24/7.

Ken Marquis said that he is thankful for the service that the AHA gives the tenants. He also said that he was thankful that he was able to get help and that there are people that need this facility.

Mr. Connor wants to improve the signage so people will be able to find 54 & 56 Medford Street.

The construction will begin in the spring.

Mr. Murray wanted to know if the AHA was going to do anything with landscaping.

Mr. Ammondson said the landscape will work into the site.

Mr. Griffin said the people that will be living there will be supervised 24/7. There will be a new walkway. Many of the new residents will be working during the day.

Upon a motion by Mr. Greeley and seconded by Mr. Murray it was unanimously voted to accept the project as presented.

The meeting was adjourned at 4.45 PM.

Upon a motion by Mr. Greeley and seconded by Mr. Murray it was voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting.
